Lester Potts’s Art and Story are Highlighted in the LA Times

The art and story of Cognitive Dynamics President Daniel C. Potts’s father Lester E. Potts, Jr. was highlighted today in the Los Angeles Times, along with the art and stories of others afflicted with neurologic disease.  Daniel C. Ellen Marie Edmonds and I will appear as guests on the television show “Health Matters With Edie Hand” May 18th at 7 pm on Charter Channel 80, Alabama Cable Network. We will be discussing dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease and caregiving issues, especially in light of the recent tornados.  Mrs. Hand is a well known television personality, philanthropist, author and celebrity chef.  She is the cousin of Elvis Presley.

Art to Life Celebration Honors Participants and Highlights Art and Life Stories

Tonight, at historic Judson College in Marion, Alabama, Art to Life participants and their family members were honored with dinner and a reception showcasing their artistic creations during the course, as well as their life stories.  Cognitive Dynamics President and University of Alabama Honors College Course Director Daniel C. Potts, MD, Associate Honors Dean Jacqueline Morgan, and Honors Fellow and student course director Meg McCrummen addressed the group, after which the group viewed a DVD of the participants’ life stories and artistic creations.  The participants and their familes were presented copies of the DVD, as well as framed copies of their art (they already possess the originals) and copies of The Broken Jar and The Turning Time by Daniel C. Potts.  The course will resume for its second session during the fall semester at the University of Alabama.

Art to Life Final Reception to be Held May 13

The final reception for “Art to Life” will be tonight at Judson College in Marion, AL. We will honor our participants and families by displaying their artistic creations, and by sharing with them storybooks and DVDs of their life stories and art. Thanks to the University of Alabama  Honors College, Sowing Seeds of Hope, and VSA Arts of Alabama for partnering with Cognitive Dynamics in this worthy cause.  This will be the first of many editions of “Art to Life”!
